MY HUSBAND OF 46 YEARS
He was driving along one afternoon,
When he spied a cute little chick.
Pulling alongside, he smiled and said
To her, “Hello, my name is Dick.”
He opened the door and held out his hand
As she accepted his offer to take a spin.
And while they rode around the town,
She thought that his heart she must win.
He bought her a ring to wear on her hand,
Her love he wore in his heart.
When wedding vows were said to her Dad
Their life’s journey was about to start.
The children came and life was busy
With work, family and friends.
The children grew up, had kids of their own,
Now the pleasure never ends.
Your birthday is here once again,
Seems they come around once every year.
We will have some cake and ice cream too,
And surround you with family so dear.
We will sing to you a birthday song,
We’ll wish you health and good cheer.
I’ll say Happy Birthday with all the rest,
And give all my love to you, dear.
