Our First Born Son

To our family, in February, of ' Fifty-Seven,

Came a bundle of joy, directly from heaven.

A pleasure to watch, as you grew and became

The fine young man, we named David Wayne.

A brilliant young child, a teacher's delight,

Teaching a child who was so bright.

You were a good reader and math you did well,

You didn't like to write, but a good story could tell.

How fast the time has flown away,

It seems like you were a child only yesterday.

Wasn't it only yesterday we held you on our knee?

Today you're a man with your own family.

Of all of our children you're the only one

Who gifted our family with grandsons!

How precious they are, enjoy while you can,

Before to long, a boy is a man!

We write this note to tell you this way

That we hope you have a very nice day.

We wish a Happy Birthday to you, our first born son,

And hope it's a day filled with pleasure and fun.
